  copland picture     Copland- Died of Alzheimer's disease and respiratory failure at the age of 90.
Beach  Beach- Died of heart disease at the age of 77.

       

        mozart  Mozart - Many theories are around.  Some by poison (Mercury was commonly used in medicines of the time) but most likely          complications from Rheumatic Fever at the age of 35.

Lloydwebber Lloyd Webber- Still alive.

Tan Dun Tan Dun- Still Alive.

Sousa Sousa- Died of heart failure at the age of 77


bach Bach -Died from a stroke after eye surgery for cataracts at the age of 75.  Dr Chevalier Taylor operated on him and the same doctor operated on Handel.  (see below)

Tchaikovskt  Tchaikovsky- Died from cholera at the age of 53.   (Cholera is an infection of the small intestine brought on by drinking dirty water).

Bizet  Bizet- Died from heart failure and Strep Infection after getting a "chill" from being in a swimming competition.  A swollen lymph node on his neck perforated (popped through the skin).  Some thought he had been shot!  But he was not.

gabrieli Gabrieli- Cause of death unknown (1587) at age of 52
beethoven  Beethoven - It is said that he died during a hail storm.  He went rowing and caught a chill which progressed into pneumonia complicated by cirrhosis of the liver. Age of 57.  Brahms and Schubert are buried next to him at their request.

haydn  Haydn- Died at home after a long illness. (Basically old age)  His head was stolen from his grave!  Phrenologist (people who studied heads and skulls to determine character and intelligence, in other words, crazy scientist) dug up his grave and removed the head.  It was later restored to his grave.  Age of 77.

gliere  Gliere-  Died in Moscow at the age of 81.

handel  Handel- Died after complications from eye surgery by Dr. Taylor (see Bach above).  Handel had a bad carriage accident and had trouble with one of his eyes after that.

humperdinck  Humperdinck-  Died of a heart attack at the age of 67.

zawinul  Zawinul - Died of skin cancer.
